Male! Melody x Mermaid! Reader Ch. 1

Somewhere in the arctic cave, you're a mermaid with a (color) mermaid tail and a (color) seashell (bikini top/bra). You had no family and you didn't had a place to stay. However, not only you're a mermaid, you also had something special. You had a power of black magic. You were also a powerful enchantress, however you knew that you couldn't control your powers ever since you were born. You unconsiously summoned a tidal wave or a storm. You even scared the fish away from you and the other merpeople by greeting them with lighting from your fingers while waving at them.

You became discouraged by your powers as if you couldn't stop them from out of control. You started to give up and let your powers make chaos, but suddenly you met a handsome and slender squid merman with his minions; Undertow, Cloak, and Dagger. His name was Morgan and he was intrigued when he heard a rumor that there was a mermaid who was called the "Sea Witch of Chaos". He knew that you're having a hard time to deal with your powers and decided that he could help you by becoming your master. He's also a sea enchanter. He took you under his wing and you became his apprentice.

When you were now sixteen years old, you finally learned how to control your magical powers, thanks to Morgan. At least, he did taught you on how to control your black magic. He explained to you that he only knew less magic. Morgan told you a story of himself and his late older brother named Ursul. His father became impressed by Ursul's magical powers and he was always criticizing Morgan to be like Ursul, much to the latter's dismay and annoyance.

Morgan didn't like being criticized and decided to be more better than Ursul. He tried to take over Atlantica by threatening the Queen when he captured her newborn grandson. The Queen surrendered, not wanting her grandson get harmed by Morgan. However, Morgan became dismayed when the merman prince and the human princess ruined his plans to take over Atlantica and swore that he'll come back again.

Not only he failed to take over Atlantica, Undertow told you that he was once a gigantic tigershark until Queen Triton turned him into a puny one. Morgan did so many times to make Undertow return to his original form, but he failed because of the trident's power. He made another way and asked you to do the same thing to Undertow. He was sure that your powers were more powerful than the trident.

He prepared the potions and told you to do the magic on Undertow. However, Undertow became unsure of your powers.

"Trust me. I'm sure my lovely apprentice gets it right," said Morgan, chuckling and grinning as he predicted that you can do it.

"Yeah, I seriously doubt it and I was sore for a week." complained Undertow as he moved far away from the cauldron.

"Oh, stop your carping and stand still." replied the sea enchanter.

"Oh, this is gonna hurt." Undertow braced himself as he was about to get hit by your magic.

With Undertow stood still, Morgan nodded to you, prompting you to prepare to turn the tigershark into a bigger version of himself.

You closed your (e/c) eyes and you swam around as you made some magic from the cauldron, raising your arms in the air. And then, a (color) glow appeared from the cauldron and lightning in the same color came out from it, coming towards the frightened Undertow. When your lightning struck him, Undertow felt his body becoming bigger. Morgan realized that you finally did the spell to turn Undertow back to normal.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" squealed Morgan, watching his pet minion returning to his normal self.

However, you two watched Undertow turning into a tiny prawn. Undertow groaned in dismay, realizing that your powers weren't strong enough to overcome the power of the trident. Morgana realized this and groaned in displeasure. He took one of the potions and threw it inside the cauldron to return Undertow back to his cursed form. However, Morgan turned Undertow into a sea snail. He smacked his hand to his face and took every potion into the cauldron, causing Undertow into random forms of a sea creature.

Finally, Undertow finally returned back to normal. Cloak and Dagger snickered after seeing the forms of Undertow. You realized that it was difficult to remove the power of the trident from Undertow. You knew that you needed to do again as you turned at your master.

"Master Morgan, let me try it again. I'm sure I can change him back to normal this time." You became serious as you spoke with Morgan.

But Morgan groaned in defeat as he went towards his sea throne.

"Oh, it's just no use. The power of the trident is just too strong for me to overcome." he stated as he began to give up.

"I bet Ursul could've done it." replied Undertow.

You became shocked as you talked to Undertow about mentioning Ursula in front of your master, "Undertow! Don't say that!"

It was already too late when Morgan heard Undertow mentioned that name.

"What was that you said?" asked Morgan, glaring at Undertow after hearing him.

"Nothin'. I'm just sayin'..."

His words suddenly cut off when Undertow quickly dodged the potion Morgan just threw.

"Stop criticizing me!" yelled Morgan. "That's all my father ever did was criticize me!"

You ended up listening to your master's complaints talking about his father. He went towards a jar of starfish and took it out in his hand.

"It was always 'Ursul this' or 'Ursul that'... or, 'Morgan, why can't you be more like your brother... Ursul!'" After yapped about Ursul, Morgan threw the starfish at the picture of Ursul, who's somehow very handsome with a smile.

"Well, it isn't Ursul's fault I got miniaturized," Undertow pointed it out to Morgan. "It's yours!"

"Is not!" replied your master, in rejection.

"Your fault that we had to hide out here for sixteen frostbitten years." argued Undertow, mentioning about Morgan's failure sixteen years ago.

You realized that Undertow was mentioning about Morgan's failed attempt to overthrow Queen Triton.

"Is not!" Morgan refused once again as he argued with Undertow.

"Your fault that we can never show our faces in polite society again!"

As he said about not revealing themselves in public ever again, Morgan confronted Undertow face to face as he stared at the tiny tigershark very close.

"You're really pushing it, small fry." growled Morgan after listening to Undertow blaming him.

Suddenly, you noticed a green glow appeared from the cauldron and the other two noticed this as well. The green orb started to shine, revealing a scenery of the human boy sitting on the steep rock with a red crab in front of him. You became surprised as you stared at the slender human boy.

He had short black hair and aqua blue eyes. For some reasons, he didn't wear anything, only his white trousers. You became awed as you stared at him.

"Who is he?" You wondered to yourself as if you were intrigued by this boy.

Morgan noticed that this boy was staring at something in his hand. It was a golden locket in a shape of a clam. Morgan gasped as he recognized that trinket.

"It's the locket!" shouted Undertow and Morgan altogether.

"The locket?" You replied in question as you noticed that your master and Undertow recognized the locket the boy was holding.

Morgan chuckled in glee as he finally found something from the boy.

"This is just the kind of break in the ice we've been waiting for," he said, realizing after seeing the boy from the cauldron. "When Ariel's innocent little boy uncovers the secret of that locket he's going to have lots of questions. And who'll be right there with all the answers?"

Undertow chuckled as he replied, "We will."

"Exactly!" Morgan nodded to his pet minion and found out about using that boy. "He'll be the perfect tool for Triton's undoing."

"And I'll get to be big again." Undertow realized that once his boss finished dealing with Queen Triton, Morgan would use the trident and turn the latter back to normal.

"Finally I'll succeed at the one thing my brother never could," Morgan knew that he would be the King of Atlantica which Ursul failed to do so before.

"Really, really big again!" repeated Undertow, talking about himself back to normal.

"Total domination of the seas!" Morgan started to dance with Undertow as he cackled as he was ready to rule the seas.

Undertow chuckled as he became delighted about becoming big again. While they were in joy, you somehow ignored their cheers as you ended up staring at the boy. You started to wonder as if you wanted to meet him in person. Noticing the location where he was, you realized that this boy was a human prince. You became interested about him and decided to head where he was. You left Morgan's icy lair and headed to the palace as you swam as fast as you could.

You arrived at nighttime and noticed that the boy you saw from the cauldron was nowhere to be seen. You looked around and realized that he went back to the castle. You wanted to know why he went back. You found a spot you can sit on and found a steep rock. Sitting on it, you used your magic as you placed your hand on the water.

Manipulating your magic, the water transformed itself into a mirror, showing a reflection of yourself.

"Show me the human prince of this palace." You gave the magic water mirror a command to reveal the human prince you saw from the cauldron.

The magic water mirror accepted your request and revealed the ballroom. You became amazed as you saw many people. You wondered if there was a special event in the castle. You listened to the servant announcing the guests.

"May I present His Royal Highness Prince Melody."

There you saw from your magic mirror was none other the black-haired boy you saw from your master's cauldron. You found out that his name was Prince Melody.

"So his name's Prince Melody."

You watched Prince Melody walking down the stairs and he was asked by a human girl wearing a blue ballroom dress for a dance. He hesitated and stared at his parents which his father prompted him to go on. The prince complied to her offer and started to dance with her. You watched Prince Melody dancing with his partner. You noticed his look as if he was somehow comfortable interacting with the girl wearing blue. However, when you stared at him dancing with his partner, you started to feel something strange.

"Huh? Why am I feeling uncomfortable watching him dancing with another girl?" You asked to yourself. You suddenly realized that all the sudden you ended up feeling jealous. "Wait a minute. Does this mean I'm feeling jealous?"

Just as you implied your reason of feeling jealous, you shook your head, knowing that you only just first saw Prince Melody.

"But I just first saw him back then. There's no way I'm jealous already."

Just when you said that to yourself, you heard a shriek from the blonde-haired girl and saw a red crab in front of her face. The girl threw the crab away from her face, sending him towards a six-layered cake. The crab crashed into the cake and Prince Melody became shocked, seeing his crabby friend like that. He went towards the destroyed cake and spoke to the crab in front of his guests.

"Are you okay, Sebastian?" asked Prince Melody.

Just when he asked the crab named Sebastian, the girl, who was dancing with Prince Melody, heard her dance partner talking to the crab.

"Who is he talking to?" she asked, seeing Prince Melody speaking to the crab.

One of the guests noticed this as someone spoke to his friends.

"He's talking to a crab!"

The chef noticed a red crab and became enraged as if he recognized Sebastian from somewhere. He started to branish his knife and tried to kill Sebastian, much to his shock. Sebastian tried to avoid the chef's knife while everyone in the ballroom started to laugh. Prince Melody told the chef not to hurt Sebastian, but the chef didn't listen as he kept killing the red Jamaican crab. The prince looked around, seeing the people laughing at him all because of talking to Sebastian. He was embarrassed and quickly ran away from the ballroom.

You became shocked after seeing the crazy commotion. You felt mad at the people who laughed at the prince.

"I can't believe them! Those humans just laughed at Prince Melody. How could they?"

And then, the mirror changed the ballroom scene into a different scenery where you noticed a royal bedroom. You saw the formal attire and boots lying on the floor, recognized those were belonged to Prince Melody. You found Prince Melody now wearing his only trousers as he laid on the bed in pain. You knew this caused him shutting himself in his own bedroom because he talked with Sebastian in front of the guests. He was hurt after the people laughed at him. You felt pity as you watched him lying on this bed. Prince Melody stared at his bag to find a locket and picked it up in his hands.

You noticed someone entered to Prince Melody's room and saw his father with red short hair, wearing a royal formal attire that contained blue royal jacket, black pants, golden belt, black boots.

"Melody, I'm so sorry." apologized his father as he sat on the bed, comforting his son.

"What's wrong with me?" Melody asked as he wiped the tears from his eyes.

"Oh, nothing's wrong with you." he answered.

"Dad, I'm the prince of disaster." Melody looked away as he looked down in displeasure.

His father sighed as he explained to Melody about being a teenager, "Being a teenager i-is hard, and, uh... all kids your age feel... a-awkward..."

Just when his father tried to explain, Melody noticed something on the locket and cleaned the dirt to find a name. He noticed there was a name "Melody".

"Melody?" he didn't understand why there was his name on this trinket. "What is this? My name's on here."

You watched Melody opening the locket and you became surprised as you started at the projection of Atlantica with merpeople swimming around. Also, you heard a melody like a music box.

"That song. Where have I heard it?" wondered Melody, listening to this familiar song. Also, he recognized that sea palace. "It's Atlantica. With merpeople and everything."

And then, Melody realized something. Before he found that locket, he was told by his father about the old fish tale of Atlantica. He turned at his father and said, "Father, you always said it was just an old fish tale."

Melody's father took the locket from Melody's hands and stared at it in shockly surprise and yet confusion.

"Where did you get this?" he asked.

Melody knew that he had to tell the truth about finding the locket as he answered, "I... I found it."

His father realized that his son went over the wall and implied, "You went over the wall, didn't you?"

"Actually, I went under it," explained Melody, talking about a secret way to the sandy shores. "I hate that stupid wall."

"Melody, you know you're not allowed in the sea." he reminded Melody that he shouldn't go nearby the sea after finding out.

"But why? And why does that necklace have my name on it?" asked Melody, wanting to know about the locket he found.

"Melody, listen to me."

"You're hiding something from me." Melody suddenly noticed that his father was actually hiding something from him.

His father realized that Melody knew that he was keeping a secret from him and started to chastise him, "Y-You deliberately disobeyed me! I never want you going out there again! Do you hear me? It's dangerous in the sea!"

"How would you know?" asked Melody, feeling hurt as he was told not to go nearby the water. "You've never even been in it!"

He snatched the locket back from his father's hand and quickly left his bedroom as he felt hurt after he was told by his father.

"M-Melody, I..." he called to Melody, but it was too late.

Melody already left when his mother opened the door to find her son running away. She stared at her husband as she realized something happened between him and their son.

"Oh no..."

He sat down on the bed as he couldn't believe that he hurt Melody's feelings. The woman with black long hair sat besides her husband, comforting him.

"Ariel, darling... we knew this day would come." she said, knowing that Melody already found about the locket.

"Ariel?" You replied that name she said to him and realized about Melody's father. "Wait, if he's Melody's father, then that means..."

You gasped as you found out about Prince Melody.

"He's the son of the merman prince from Altantica." You finally grasped what Melody really was after knowing all about him.

You listened to his parents' conversation after finding about Melody.

"Oh, Erica. You're right. It's time I trusted him with the truth." declared Ariel, knowing that he had to tell Melody the truth.

You then finished watching and dispelled the water magic mirror by snapping your fingers. You couldn't believe that you first saw Prince Melody as the son of the merman prince from Altantica. You also realized that Melody wanted to know about the locket. You heard the voice of Sebastian and the red crab talking to Melody, who went towards the boat nearby at the beach. You dived into the water and went a little closer from not letting him or Sebastian notice you. Sebastian noticed what was Melody doing with the boat, pushing it towards the sea.

"Young man, just where do you think you're going?" asked Sebasian, talking in his Jamacian accent.

"I've gotta figure this out," Melody answered as he got the boat floating on the water. When he got himself on the boat, he stared at the locket which was worn around his neck. "This necklace means something... and if no one's gonna tell me... I'm gonna find out myself."

Sebastian begged Melody not to do this and stated that the human prince was making a big mistake. Melody didn't listen as he rowed the boat, heading to who-knows-where.

You began to wonder if it's okay to help Melody to find out about the locket. You followed Melody as you swan towards the boat. About a couple of miles away from the palace, Melody noticed you and stopped rowing the boat. You became shocked as you got spotted by the human prince and tried to run away.

"Wait, don't go!" called Melody.

You stopped and looked back at Melody after you were told to not to run away. You confronted Melody as you stared at him head on.

"What are you doing here in the middle of the sea?" he asked, noticing you're in the water.

"Well... I..." You hesitated as you don't know how to talk with a human.

Melody somehow realized that you were lost in the middle of the sea and gave a suggestion to you.

"Are you lost? If so, come closer, so you can get on the boat."

You knew that you couldn't hop on the boat Melody was standing on because you're a mermaid. You dived your head into the water, much to his surprise.

"Huh? Hey, wait! Where did you go?" he called to you after seeing you going under the water.

And then, you jumped out from the water, flying in the air, just as you revealed your (color) mermaid tail to Melody. Melody stared at your mermaid tail in shock and surprise as he couldn't believe himself that he met you as a mermaid. After you revealed your true form, you confronted Melody as you popped out from the water.

"You're a mermaid!" realized Melody.

You nodded to him as you spoke with him, "That's right. I know what are you looking for."

"You do?" he replied.

"You wanted to know about the locket you found, right?"

Upon hearing your imply, Melody nodded as he asked, "How did you know?"

"I'm a sea enchantress. I used my magic to see you from afar, Melody." You explained as you revealed yourself as a sea enchantress.

Melody realized that he wanted to ask you about the locket and talked with you.

"Then tell me about the locket I found, why it has my name on it?" he begged you to tell him about the locket.

You shook your head as you replied, "I can't. I'm not sure about this locket you have around your neck."

"I see..." Melody understood your reason and started to frown.

You knew that you really wanted to help Melody as if he was very important to you. You tried to think a way and realized that maybe your master can help Melody.

"Wait, maybe my master can tell you about the locket."

"Really?" Melody smiled at you, realizing that you mentioned Morgan.

"Yes, I can take you there. Follow me."

You used your water magic to make the waves move the boat. You guided Melody to Morgan's icy lair while manipulating the waves to move the boat. While you guided the human prince, you were watched by your master from afar. He stared at you guiding Melody to his lair, much to his pleasure.

"This is divine!" said Morgan, seeing his apprentice taking Melody to him. He started to give thanks, "Oh thank you so much, my dear (Y/n)! You brought that boy who needs our help once you come here soon enough!"

Morgan started to give an evil chuckle as his goal to take over Altantica will soon come true.
