P5 MC x Detective! Reader: Enemies in Love?

You were a teenage detective from France. Actually, you were also Japanese because you were born from Tokyo, Japan. You were transferred to Japan and you were given some cases related to a group of phantom thieves. Of course, you never had heard of this group, the Phantom Thieves of Heart. According to your collegues, this group revealed themselves at night and there were some rumors. They came here to steal hearts from the adults who were corrupted.

You were unsure of this "group of phantom thieves" even though you were chosen to take this case that may related to them. Your first case was to investigate a mogul in his twenties, who owned some of the casinos in Tokyo. Some rumors about this man claimed that he had some accomplices for smugglings. You knew that you had to take this case, but you were hesitant about this case. Why? Because this mogul would be having a special event at his casino and he only invited beautiful young women.

Well, you couldn't refuse this offer, so you took this case. After you finished your work as the detective, you returned to an apartment where you were now staying with your relative. You entered your room and began to set up your futon. And then, you began to fall asleep.

As you were sleeping, you were taken to a different world in your dreams. You found yourself in a velvet blue room that almost resembled an interrogation room, sitting at the table. Opposite, you met a strange looking old man with a long nose, pointed ears, and bulging, bloodshot eyes, clad in his black suit with white gloves.

"Welcome to the Velvet Room. My name is Igor," Igor introduced himself. "And these two young children are my assistants, Caroline and Justine."

Twin sisters gave a bow and said altogether, "Please to meet you..."

"I'm sure there's a reason why you came here."

You nodded as you knew something might happen to you. Igor then summoned a black opera mask and gave it you.

"This mask is your mask," he explained. "Your Persona as well. It will help you during your journey and your fate as well."

"My fate..." You replied as you stared down at the mask.

"And I'd wager you will soon meet the person who will help you as well," he stated. "But that is for you to find out. Until then, farewell."

And then, the room began to blur as you suddenly awoke when the morning sun came. You sat up and began to recall that mysterious dream you just had.

"My Persona..."

And then, you became confused as you noticed a familiar mask you just held.

"That mask..."

You remembered Igor gave it to you when you were in the Velvet Room. You decided to keep it with you in case if you would needed it for something.

Then you were enrolled a high school called Syujin High. You were introduced during your first day of school as a transfer student. Also, you received some admiration from the other students when they found out that you were a gifted detective. You became embarrassed and stated that it was only natural for being a teenage detective. Because of that, you were called "Detective Princess" by your classmates.

While you were alone as the last period class was finally over, you stared at the black opera mask you received from the man named Igor in your dreams. You began to wonder if you should wear this mask.

"This mask is my Persona... But what is the meaning of this?" You thought to yourself.

You decided to head home while you didn't notice that you left the black mask on your desk. Just when you were about to leave, you head a voice calling you.

"Excuse me, you forgot this."

You turned around to find a boy with glasses. He had short, messy black hair and dark gray eyes and wore a school uniform that contisted a buttoned up black blazer with red buttons and the school's emblem, a white turtleneck shirt that had two black chevrons on the collar, and black and red plaid trousers with black shoes.

You realized that he was holding the black opera mask when he called out to you. You didn't notice that you almost left that mask on your desk.

"Thank you." You took the mask from the boy and you quickly left the classroom.

As you headed back home, you decided to take a little nap in your room.

As you fell asleep, you began to have another room. You found yourself a familiar room and you knew that was an interrogation room or rather the Velvet Room. However, you noticed Igor and his twin assistants were nowhere to be seen.

Just when you stood up from the chair, you began to notice a strange monster appearing before you.

"What was that?!"

You began to take a gun and tried to kill it. After killing this strange demon monster, you became shocked as another demon began to attack you from behind.

"Dammit!"

And then, a voice echoed out in the room.

"Persona!"

A strange being appeared and destroyed the demon who tried to attack you. You became surprised as you stood speechless. You saw a figure with black wings clad in red. Just when the red figure disappeared, you noticed there was a human figure coming out from the shadows.

A raven black-haired boy wore a black trench coat with a gray collared shirt, black trousers and boots, and a pair of red gloves. His mask was a white mask shaped like a bird.

"Who is he?"

You stared at the masked boy for a silent moment. He broke the silence as he said, "It's still too soon. We'll meet again when there's a next heist."

He disappeared and the Velvet Room began to blur, realizing that you're going to wake up.

You quickly opened your (e/c) eyes as you sat up from the futon. You realized from that Velvet Room you met a boy with a white mask. You couldn't tell who he was back then and he saved your life. And then, you got a text from your smartphone and noticed the message was from your collegue.

It was said the party would be starting on at midnight on Saturday, meaning tonight. You prepared for the party as you wore a long (f/c) strapless dress with matching gloves and shoes. You headed to the casino owned by the rich man in his twenties. The information you were right because when you came inside the casino, you noticed many women attending the party.

"No wonder this mogul is actually a ladies' man." You thought to yourself. "Although there are no men attending this party, there were some security guards."

As you mentioned it, there were some tough-looking security guards supervising the casino. You walked around until you caught the sight of the tall man clad in his fancy tuxedo while holding a glass of champagne speaking with gorgeous ladies. You recognized that man was none other than the mogul. He had slicked back black hair and black eyes. Also, he had a beauty mark under his left eye. You noticed he was actually handsome due to the fact he was surrounded by women. However, you couldn't let your guard down with that man. You needed to stay cautious during your undercover as a female guest of this midnight party.

Just when you were about to walk past by the mogul, he noticed you while you unawarely caught his eye.

After he finished speaking with the other female guests, he went after you and grabbed your wrist.

"What?"

"May I ask your name, miss?" he said.

"Um..." You hesitated as you reluctantly told your fake name, "My name is Yume."

"Yume, what a lovely name. Let's have a conversation, just the two of us."

He then placed his around your waist and guided you to the bar. He then ordered drinks for himself and you. He then introduced himself as Kado Akuma.

He began to speak you such as wanting to know about yourself. You tried to pretend that you're an idol. You told him that you decided to move here to find a manager.

"Finding a manager, huh?" he said as he gave a sly smirk, "Then in that case, let me be your manager."

You tried to keep cautious, knowing what would happen if you're going to accept his "offer" as your "manager".

"Well... I don't know."

"Think about it. If you choose me as your manager, I can make everything you want come true. Your fans, money, you name it."

You began to give a moment of thought and answered, "Okay. I accept your offer."

Kado chuckled as he held his drink, "Cheers."

You then drank your drink. Just when you did, you felt a strange feeling.

"What? What's happening to...?" Your (e/c) eyes began to falter.

The smirking face of your target Kado was the only last thing you saw before you fell into unconsciousness.

By the time you went unconsciousness, you dreamt of the boy with a white mask dressed in black. Then, you quickly awoke as you found yourself lying on a heart-shaped bed.

You sat down and looked around as you noticed something different about this room.

"This room."

You felt a strange feeling as some parts of this room became unstable.

"What's going on?"

You remembered you were having a conversation with Mr. Akuma before you were suddenly passed. You tried to know what had happened to you until you made an assumption.

"Did he just drugged me when I drank something?"

You knew Kado was up to no good, but you were not sure what's he going to do with you. You decided to escape before his bodyguards came here to get you. After you got out from the guest room, you quickly started to find a way to escape. However, because of the strange and unfamiliar surroundings, you kept running in circles, no way out.

"What's happening to this place? It's as if I'm in a different world."

You looked around in the hallway until you suddenly bumped into a strange-looking with a heart-shaped mask. A creature noticed you and began to chase after you. You quickly ran away as fast you could, knowing you didn't have anything that may protect from this unknown enemy.

As you tried to avoid that masked enemy, you ended up confronting a dead end. Realizing that the masked enemy was about to kill you, you braced yourself until you noticed someone came to your rescue.

You noticed a familiar boy with a white mask came to your rescue as he tore the mask from the enemy, revealing its true form. A demon.

After witnessing the demon, you watched him fighting that monster as he used his mask to summon an entity.

"Persona!" he yelled.

His mask shattered and a red entity appeared behind him. A crimson red figure with wings attacked a demon in one strike. After fighting that strange monster, the mysterious entity disappeared.

After saving your life, he turned around and stared at you. You began to recognize that boy. It was that masked boy in your dreams where he saved your life in the Velvet Room.

You stood still as he reached his red gloved hand towards you.

"Are you all right?" he asked.

You realized that this masked boy was asking you if you're not harmed. You only nodded to him.

"You shouldn't be here. This place is dangerous." warned the masked boy.

You knew this, of course, but right now you couldn't find an exit to escape this strange world.

"I... I don't know where to get out of this place."

He knew that there's no way for you to escape from this mysterious strange world. He gave a sigh of dismay and extended his hand.

"Here, let me take you somewhere safe."

You weren't sure if you could trust him, as you remembered about this group of thieves. The Phantom Thieves of Heart. You were sure that this masked boy was one of them.

You refused to take his hand as you turned away from him.

"I don't need your help. I can find a way out on my own." You turned away from him as you started to find a way out on your own.

"Wait!"

Just when he called back for you, more of the strange masked enemies appeared, coming towards you.

"What?! How many are they?!" You became shocked as you couldn't believe there's more of these monsters.

You knew that you couldn't fight them all by yourself. Just then, the masked boy grabbed your hand and dragged you away from the strange creatures.

"This way!" He then guided you as he held your hand firmly as you both quickly ran away.

"W-What?!"

You couldn't believe that he took you by hand as you felt a little embarrassed. You had no chocie, but to let him help you find a way to escape. However, you both realized there was no way to get out.

As you two found yourselves surrounded, he knew that he couldn't fight by himself while protecting you. Then, they heard a voice.

"Go! Zorro!"

A large figure in black holding with a rapier attacked the masked demon monsters, defending you and the masked boy.

"Mona!" he shouted as he recognized an anthropomorphic black cat with blue eyes.

"Are you okay?" Mona asked.

You became shocked and surprised as you noticed there was a cute anime-like kitty who could speak with the masked boy.

The masked boy noticed your reaction when first meeting the black cat named Mona.

"You okay?" he asked.

"Did that cat just talked?!" You cried in shock as you knew that there's no such thing when cats could talk.

Mona heard you, much to his irritation, and shouted at you, "How many times I keep hearing that?! I am not a cat!"

You then noticed that you made Mona irritated when you talked about him as a cat.

"I'm sorry..." You apologized. "But you almost look like..."

The masked boy prevented you from commenting about Morgan by covering your mouth with his red gloved hand.

"Don't push him. He'll just keep complaining no matter how you think about him." he whispered.

You knew that telling this talking "cat" that he was actually cat would cause Mona to complain. You reluctantly did what he told you to and kept quiet.

"Mona, where're the others?"

Mona explained about their teammates since they got separated by the time they snuck inside the casino.

"I have a bad feeling that our target already captured them. Who knows what's going to happen to them if we don't hurry."

Then they heard a female voice calling out to them.

"Hey, can you two hear me?"

"Navi!" recognized the Phantom.

"Yeah, we hear you!" replied Mona.

You tilted your head, noticing the talking cat and the masked boy speaking to someone's voice.

"Uh, who are you talking to?" You asked as if you didn't know who were they talking to exactly.

"Huh? Is there someone else with you?" asked Navi.

"Yeah, just a bystander." he answered.

They then both talked to Navi's voice about where were they. Navi explained that she's with their teammates. However, the masked boy and Mona found out that the others were imprisoned by the corrupt adult.

"Tell us where you guys are." he said.

Navi told you three to find at the main casino room. Then you all entered inside the main room of the casino to find their teammates locked inside a cage. There were five members of the masked boy's group. A boy with blonde spiky hair wore a skull mask and his outfit looked like a punk pirate.

A girl with long wavy pigtails wore a red cat mask and a skin tight red leather catsuit.

A boy with short dark blue hair wore a kitsune mask and a black jacket and pants, white boots, light blue gloves, and a long white fox tail with two red stripes.

A brunet girl wore an iron mask and her burglar outfit consisted a skintight black leather suit with a long black scarf, shoulder and knee pads with spikes, and white gloves.

A girl with orange long hair wore a skintight black bodysuit with fluorescent neon green glowing strips and matching black boots with neon green soles. Her mask was a pair of big black goggles with orange lenses.

"Everyone!" cried Mona.

"Hey, don't! It's a trap!" shouted the skull masked boy.

Just when the masked boy tried to free them, the cage disappeared taking its prisoners with them.

"Everyone!" he shouted.

Then you three heard a dark laugh like a nobleman and noticed a man wearing a noble-like attire. You recognized that man and you knew it was that same man who drugged you when during your fake conversation.

"Kado Akuma!"

"Well, well. You brought my cute plaything back to me." said Kado, noticing you were with the masked boy and Mona.

The masked boy stood in front of you, protecting from that corrupted Kado.

"Where did you take them?" he asked.

"Oh, you mean your friends? Well, I don't know, but I'm sure there's something worse might going to happen to them." Kado replied as if he knew about the others' assumed fate.

"Let them go." he said to the corrupted Kado.

"Very well. I will... if you can beat me on a game of poker." the evil adult replied.

"Poker?" You couldn't believe that this man challenged the masked boy on a card game.

"If you win, I'll release your precious friends. But if I win..." Kado then turned his head at you and gave you a smirk. "You have to return my precious plaything to me."

What?! You became shocked as you couldn't believe your ears. After hearing about this, you didn't want this man get his hands on you.

The masked boy nodded as if he accepted the challenge. You watched him and Kado playing poker. The game still continued. As the game came to the end, Kado revealed his cards.

His hand had a straight flush. As for the masked boy, he revealed his cards to Kado. The corrupted mogul became shocked as if he couldn't believe his eyes.

"Impossible..."

The masked boy's cards were the royal flush.

"You did it!" Mona congratulated.

You became relieved after seeing him defeated Kado Akuma.

"Now release them." he demanded Kado to release his friends this instant.

However, Kado darkly chuckled as he gave a crazed look on his face, his eyes now yellow.

"You think you won? But the real game just begun!" he exclaimed as the dark evil aura engulfed him.

Turning into a man with red and black skin in a matching business suit, he sat down on a big chair with a giant roulette behind him.

"It's game time!"

Summoning a card-like monsters, the masked boy and Mona protect you from harm.

"Mona, protect her!"

The masked boy prepared to fight the corrupted Kado with summoning his Persona via the white mask.

"Go! Persona!"

As he called forth, you noticed a familiar entity emerging. A figure with black wings clad in red. The same figure from your dream.

"Persona..." You muttered to yourself as you watched the black-haired boy fighting against the corrupted mogul.

However, the masked boy couldn't do it alone. You knew that you had to help him even though he's the enemy. You ran towards the battle, much to Mona's shock.

"Hey, wait! It's too dangerous!" the cat called out to you, but you didn't hear him as you kept running.

You shot the card monsters down and defended the masked boy. He couldn't believe that you saved him from the monsters. Then, you took out a black mask, much to his surprise.

"I can't stand by and do nothing. I have to fight as well!" You thought to yourself. You slowly placed the mask on yourself and slowly said, "Persona."

As you said that word, you removed your mask and a female figure appeared before you.

You stared at a female wearing a black mask same as yours clad in a sapphire blue gown with dark brown hair in a noble style.

"Thou art I... And I am thou... From the sea of thy soul I cometh... I am Josephine, the Countess Cagliostro."

You couldn't believe this was your Persona and you knew you could defeat those monsters with this power.

"Go, Josephine!" You commanded your Persona to attack the card-like monsters.

"What?!" Kado couldn't believe that you took his card-like minions down with your Persona.

"Kado Akuma, I won't let you get away with this!"

"Stop her!" Kado commanded his minions to attack you, but the masked boy summoned Arsene to protect you and Josephine.

You couldn't believe that the masked boy protected you from the monsters.

"Let's do this together."

You nodded as you both used Arsene and Josephine to attack the corrupted adult. With that, you finally defeated the corrupted Kado Akuma and everything went back to normal. His teammates were also freed as they went to find Mona and the masked boy. The masked boy contained the corrupted heart from Kado and Kado himself returned back to his normal body, unconscious.

After the battle, you found yourself feeling tired as you began to pass out. You then got yourself caught in the masked boy's arms as you went unconscious, him carrying your unconscious body.

Mona realized that you got the potential to summon a Persona. Their teammates finally arrived.

The skull-masked boy shockly noticed you being carried by the white-masked boy.

"Hey, since when you got your chance to carry her like a princess?!" he complained.

"Who's she?" asked the masked brunet.

"Oh, that must be her when I heard her voice." Navi realized.

As Mona told everyone that you had a power to summon a Persona, everyone found out that you were from Syujin High. Of course, they heard some students calling you the Detective Princess. Some of them wondered if that they should let you join their group.

"I don't mind having another girl on our gang. This might be interesting." the skull-masked stated his opinion.

The cat-masked girl got a punch to the arm on the blonde latter, much to her dismay.

"I'm not sure about that. She's the detective and she might arrest us." said the fox-masked boy.

The white-masked boy decided that they shouldn't let you join since you're their enemy for the time being.

After this decision, they began to quickly make a getaway.

"You guys go ahead, I'll catch up." he said.

As he laid you against the pillar, he stared at your face for the moment. He then caressed your check. And then... he went towards your face closely as if he was about to give you a kiss. However, he couldn't, stopping himself from kissing you.

He knew he couldn't kiss you even though you helped him. He's your enemy. And then, you slowly began to open your (e/c) eyes.

"What are you doing here?" You asked, realizing that this masked boy didn't escape.

He gave a vague smirk as he stared at you.

"So it was you..." he muttered.

"Huh?"

"You're that girl." he explained as he took his white mask off, revealing his dark gray eyes completely.

You became surprised as you remembered that face. It was none other that boy with black glasses from your school. Also, he's the one who gave you back your black mask.

"It's you..."

You didn't understand why this boy became a phantom thief, stealing a heart of a corrupted adult.

"Why are you doing this?" You asked.

"We want to change this world without corruption. That's why we steal corrupted hearts from those adults."

After giving you a vague reason, you both heard sirens of the cop.

"You have to leave now." You urged him to escape.

Much to his surprise, he never knew that you're letting him to escape.

"Don't worry, I'll just tell my superiors that you got away."

With that assurance, the masked boy quickly left as you arrested the unconscious Kado with handcuffs. After cops arrested Kado, you stared at the night sky.

You wondered if you somehow already fell in love with that boy. He saved your life and helped you arrest the corrupted adult. You remembered when you were unconscious, you felt your lips almost touched by that very masked boy. Touching your lips, you wondered if he stole your heart completely.

"I wonder if this is forbidden love." You thought out loud as you stared at the full moon.

While you kept staring at the moon, the masked boy stood on the top of the roof, watching you in secret. Knowing that you may be his secret ally, he knew that you could help him along with your Persona on his next heist as he disappeared in the dark.
